Who makes it and why it's free
About PRGRES
PRGRES is a free workout tracker for iPhone and iPad. I'm Baris Yakali, an iOS developer in the Netherlands. I build the app on my own and write the articles on the blog.

Why I built it
I lift, and I got tired of paying every month for apps that log sets and reps. I wanted one that works offline and doesn't ask me to create an account.
The first version of PRGRES came out in March 2026. It now does what I wanted from a log: each set is pre-filled from my last session, and the Suggested target next to it adds weight, keeps it or drops it about 5%, depending on the RPE I logged for that set last time. It also charts my estimated 1RM over time.
Your workouts are stored on your iPhone or iPad. The app contains no third-party SDKs, and its App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”. Two features involve Apple: voice input in Quick Log uses Apple's speech recognition, and if you allow it, workouts you track live are saved to Apple Health (iOS 26 and later), and if you connect it for the readiness check, PRGRES reads your sleep, heart rate variability and resting heart rate on your iPhone. The privacy policy covers the rest.

Why it's free
I don't run a server for the tracker, so it costs me the same whether ten people use it or ten thousand. PRGRES is free. Every feature in the app is free, with no limits on plans, workouts, custom exercises or history.
PRGRES+, an optional paid add-on for cloud sync, backup, and an AI coach, is planned. It isn't available yet, and nothing in the app today moves behind it.
Facts and press
Everything the app does, and what it doesn't, is on the features page. If you're writing about PRGRES, the press kit has the facts, the app icon and screenshots.
Why is the website prgrs.app?
The app is called PRGRES (pronounced “progress”), on the App Store and in the app. prgrs.app is its web address and email domain, kept from an earlier spelling of the name. Apps with similar names on the App Store, such as “PRGRS - Workout Tracker” and “PRGRSS”, are made by other developers and aren't related.

Your name, email and message come to me by email so I can reply. I don't use them for anything else.
